The rooftop solar market “down under” has not been disrupted due to COVID-19 – in fact, they are currently setting new installation records and are 40% ahead of where they were the same time last year with a total of 2.5 million installs completed.

The 275 MW of “small-scale” rooftop solar was installed in July alone, setting records in NSW, Queensland and South Australia. The amount installed so far in 2020 as a whole has already surpassed what the country installed in all of 2018, which is partially due to a rapid increase in average sizes above 10 kilowatts. Queensland leads with 717,000 rooftop installs now completed, totaling 3,346 MW.
