Virginia Governor Ralph Northam just passed the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA), which includes additions to energy efficiency pilot program, net metering and energy storage expansion, and state utility companies are to source 100% carbon-free electricity by 2045.
The icing on the cake? All coal plants will close by 2024.
